As soon as we talk about Robotic we think about mechanical robots: wrong!
RPA is based on Software that can simulate a human at the Computer. It can perform the same operations on programs and files.
RPA is used to perform repetitive tasks, which generally take a long time, and usually do not generate direct income to the company, regardless of its size.
Very often, however, these tasks are required to meet the needs of the process or the law.
Entrusting these tasks to Robot Software (we call it that for simplicity) frees up valuable resources that can be reallocated to other more interesting or more profitable tasks.
The advantage in terms of gained competition in a world that wants to “turn” faster and faster is therefore evident.
We often use an additional component to RPA that is BI (Business Intelligence) which allows us to process large and complex amounts of data processed by RPA. In particular, complex data processing such as large spreadsheets files that must merge with or relate to data from other systems such as those exported via RPA from SAP or Database.
In this way you can even create complex reports otherwise not possible or possible only with an important manual work that can last days, while all, if automated, is regularly performed by Trigger (event that triggers the execution of other tasks) or by a simple Scheduler (scheduled execution of a task at a predefined date and / or time that can be recurring in time).
Large companies, such as those for which we implement RPA, have long understood the advantages of automated processes.
But even for a SME the advantages of these systems are not indifferent.
Examples range from “Online Shops”, which have to cope with enormous amounts of information while remaining advantageous in the face of larger competitors, to the SME that reports the working hours in a calculation table and then make, at the end of the month, invoices and final accounts.
